Franz Eberhofer bekommt es diesmal gleich mit einer ganzen Serie bizarrster Todesfälle rund um die Familie Neuhofer zu tun. Während alle, besonders aber Franz' Vorgesetzter Moratschek, an Zufälle glauben, heften sich Franz und Rudi an die Fersen der Femme fatale Mercedes und ihrem Partner Klaus Mendel. Die Reise führt sie bis nach Teneriffa, wo Franz und Rudi in einem Romantikhotel als vermeintliches Pärchen landen. Wieder einmal Stress pur für den Eberhofer Franz, zumal ihm die Hauptverdächtige Mercedes auch noch ordentlich den Kopf verdreht hat.
